Classic Car Overview

$550,000 - $650,000 USD

  • Desirable E-Series Dino 246 GTS, the models final and most refined specification with an improved gearbox and upgraded Weber carburetors
  • Delivered new in Rosso Dino over Beige Connolly leather; presently finished in Bianco Polo over tan leather
  • Factory-equipped with air conditioning, power windows, and Daytona-style seats
  • Comprehensive restoration reportedly completed in 2015 by Farland Classic Restoration of Englewood, Colorado
  • Received a thorough service in June 2026 by Motion Products, Inc. of Wisconsin, including fresh fluids and new spark plugs

Among the most admired sports cars of its time, Ferraris Dino marked a defining moment in the companys evolution, combining exquisite styling with the balance of a lightweight, mid-engined design. Penned by Leonardo Fioravanti at Pininfarina and built by Scaglietti, its graceful lines cloaked a competition-bred chassis and spirited V-6 engine, establishing the formula for Ferraris future mid-engine road cars and gaining further appeal in targa-roofed Gran Turismo Spider form, which allowed its charismatic soundtrack to be enjoyed in the open air.

According to an accompanying report by Marcel Massini, chassis number 08056 was completed on 4 April 1974, finished in the striking combination of Rosso Dino (20-R-350) over Beige Connolly leather (VM 3234). A desirable late-production E-Series example, it benefits from the models final and most developed specification, including an improved gearbox and upgraded Weber carburetors. Well-equipped from new, it was also optioned with factory air conditioning, power windows, and Daytona-style seats. Delivered to the United States via Chinetti-Garthwaite Imports of Paoli, Pennsylvania, it was acquired in 1976 by respected racing driver Joe Buzzetta, who retained ownership through 1984.

In 2014, the car was reportedly entrusted to Farland Classic Restoration of Englewood, Colorado, for an extensive restoration that saw it refinished in the crisp and elegant shade of Bianco Polo over an interior retrimmed in tan leather. The car has benefited from well-documented care during the consignors ownership, most recently receiving a thorough inspection and service in June 2026 by Motion Products, Inc. of Wisconsin. Documentation shows the work included a brake fluid flush, replacement of the engine oil, coolant, and transaxle gear oil, new spark plugs, and selective refreshing of the interior and trim as needed.

A highly desirable late-production example, this Dino 246 GTS represents the model at its most refined, combining celebrated design with one of Ferraris most emotionally resonant driving experiences. To view this car and others currently consigned to this auction, please visit the RM website at rmsothebys.com/auctions/mo26/.
