Windy City Warriors

From around 1956 until the mid 1980s, Dodge, Plymouth and even Chrysler squads were the most ubiquitous police cars in North America. In fact, the biggest department, the NYPD, used Plymouth and Dodge squads almost exclusively until the rear-drive M body car was finally axed in 1989.

Savoy Faire is Everywhere

The no-frills Savoy two-door sedan was home to another engine of considerable repute, the infamous 413 Max Wedge, a Super Stock monster block Chrysler introduced in the spring of 1962.

Classic Car Overview

She is a project car with huge potential. With reasonable interiors, a reliable and well maintained engine, brand new brakes and excellent engine timing, all she needs is some love and investment to be driven with pride to your local car show.

This particular year is smog exempt, has a brand new after market AC condenser and has a functional A-Track player with a cassette adapter in the glove box. Also in the glove box you'll find an original owners manual in excellent condition and a 1970's first aid kit (all of which are collectors items on their own). Behind the seat you'll find the original jack which connects to the bumper for extremely easy use.

I bought this charming car of personality as a daily driver and enjoyed it as such for over two years of smooth driving (she drives like a magic carpet). I now have a painful 405 commute and opted for a car with better fuel economy and modern creature comforts to brave the endless hours of traffic, hence why I'm selling.

I am not the first driver but a close look under the hood will reassure you that this car really does have only 68k original miles.

As an added bonus, I will provide an introduction to who I call "Bob the Engine Whisperer". He is a retired mechanic that just loves working on classic cars. He knows this El Camino well and is more than willing to continue to serve her new owner for as long as possible. His rates are low and his work is impressive. Just please tip him well as I have!
