Windy City Warriors

From around 1956 until the mid 1980s, Dodge, Plymouth and even Chrysler squads were the most ubiquitous police cars in North America. In fact, the biggest department, the NYPD, used Plymouth and Dodge squads almost exclusively until the rear-drive M body car was finally axed in 1989.

Savoy Faire is Everywhere

The no-frills Savoy two-door sedan was home to another engine of considerable repute, the infamous 413 Max Wedge, a Super Stock monster block Chrysler introduced in the spring of 1962.

Classic Car Overview

1974 Cadillac Coupe De Ville, with 20,440 original miles. Red with White Top and white leather interior. Power locks, windows, and seats, documented ownership since new. The paint is original and in excellent condition. No Rust. The crumble strips on the back near the tail lights have disintegrated, which is typical for the age of the car (got a professional quote to fix these: It's $700 to fix. We can do it before sale or take $700 of sale price to fix yourself). These can be reordered and easily replaced. No rips or tears in the seats.  The rear seat is almost as-new.  The red carpet is excellent, as is the kick panel pocket just inside the passenger foot well, a high wear point that is in almost new condition.   The car comes with the original Shop Manual and Parts and Supply Catalog. Lots of other brochures and sales catalogs are there as well. The original hood ornament is there, but there is an upgraded ornament currently on the car.

The car was sold new to a Mr. Gustave Mause on March 26, 1974 by Hoyle Cadillac, Inc. of Delray Beach, Florida.  Mr. Mause drove the car up until his passing in 1991 at which time the car had 7,400 miles on it.  His wife sold the car in 1996 to the next owner in Florida.  In 1999 under the third owner it came to Michigan where it was driven sparingly - evidenced by the good condition of the underside of the car.  In 2003 it was sold to a local collector, who took excellent care of the car and stored it properly in a climate controlled environment.  I purchased the car in 2011 and have enjoyed owning it.  With 3 young kids, we just don't get a chance to get the car out enough to drive it.
