Classic Car Overview

Gateway Classic Cars is proud to offer a very rare and incredibly unique vehicle. Available in our St. Louis showroom is a 1973 Volvo 1800ES. A variant of the P1800 coupe; the 1800ES was a two year only production two door wagon featuring an all glass rear hatch. Between 1972 and 1973 only 8,077 1800ES rolled off the assembly line in Sweden. The car featured a 2.0 Liter OHV B20E engine. The 4 cylinder is backed by a 4-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Drive is delivered to the rear wheels and to slow the whole thing down there is disc brakes in all four corners. With 120 horsepower from the I4 at 6,500 RPMs and a lightweight body, this thing is fun to push to the limit. The appearance certainly matches the lively driving characteristics. This one is coated in a coat of gray with a little metallic flake. The interior features black upholstery, which shows some age, but still shows quite well. Volvos are known for being overbuilt high quality automobiles, and one owner proved that fact very well. A gentleman in New York owns a 1966 1800S (the big brother to the 1800ES) which has covered over 3,000,000 miles! The gentleman claims the reason the car has stood the test of time is that he always used Volvo parts and kept the vehicle 100% stock. This speaks volumes for Volvos build quality. This particular 1800ES is certainly no exception and could easily be driven daily. The car is a real eye catcher and commands attention everywhere it goes. The quirky cool styling puts smiles on the faces of those lucky enough to catch a glimpse. Given the low production, this is easily one that could increase in value as an investment piece. Located in our St. Louis Showroom, this 1973 Volvo 1800ES can be seen including 100+ HD pictures and video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com.
