VW Kombi Van Seeing Resurgence in Popularity

The Volkswagen Kombi van reached iconic status, with even a school lunch box fashioned in its image. During those early years, the Volkswagen Microbus morphed into various forms. From a cargo carrier with no windows behind the driver's seat to a windowed passenger van with three rows of seats, the possibilities seemed endless.

Vintage Japanese Cars: Nissan's Online Heritage Collection

If you're a fan of vintage Japanese cars, be sure to check out Nissan's online heritage site. There are tons of vintage Nissan pics and specs going all the way back to the 1920s. Each featured car or truck has relevant specs and a little "detail" tab that gives some background on that specific car.

Classic Car Overview

This van has a total mileage of only 93,004 miles. It sat for 30 years in the mountains. I completely refurbished it only 1,586 miles ago. It has a larger rebuilt engine ( 2100 cc versus the standard 1700 cc ). I can go up San Marcos pass at 60 mph. The 4-speed transmission is rebuilt. New tires and brakes, new electronic distributor, new battery, new gas tank. The interior and exterior were painted. It has new exterior lights and signals. Front seats have new covers and foam, all cushions in the rear are new foam and Sunbrella canvas. There is a new glove box, new window wiper tank ( now powered ), new retractible seatbelts, new sink pump, new canvas pop-up, all rubber seals are new. My wife added some nice curtains. There is a set of surf racks, and a bicycle rack for the back. In addition, I still have, but did not put back in the van, the front tarp that covers the front seats, the hammock frame ( needs new canvas ) , the moveable stool ( re-covered in Sunbrella ), and the back hatch window screen. I never did install the heater, or a radio, and never fixed the horn, so there is still room for an added personal touch. No trades, price is firm. $35,000
