The Type 181 is known as the Kurierwagen in Germany a Trekker in the United Kingdom the Thing in the United States (1973-74) the Safari in Mexico and South America and Pescaccia in Italy. This 2 wheel drive 4 door convertible has removable doors a folding windshield and drain holes in the floor so you could spray it out with a hose. Power is provided by a 1600cc flat four engine single carburetor with a 4 speed manual transmission. A roll bar canvas top vinyl windows seat belts and cloth interior round out the features on this minimalistic Volkswagen everything you need and nothing you dont.
