Classic Car Overview
This 1973 Super Beetle has been garage kept in Florida for 17 years and currently garage kept in Chattanooga TN. Runs well but tends to lag when the accelerator is rapidly pressed to the floor. Im told that the new Carburetor needs to be tuned but I just dont have the time or inclination. Breaks and transmission both work great. Lights, turn signals, and flashers work as does the speedometer, fuel gage and horn. Drivers window will not roll up the last half inch, but the window covers make that irrelevant. Both the right window and the sunroof work great and operate smoothly.
The carpet is not original so its in good condition, and the left door panel is new as well as both window cranks. Both heads were replaced about 100 miles ago, the carburetor, fuel pump, fuel filters, fuel tank and all rubber fuel lines are brand new.
There is no body or frame rust, and the floor pans are perfectly intact. There is very light surface rust that can be polished out on the headlight eyebrows and the back bumper. Some nimrod with a welding rod fetish welded an aftermarket muffler to the frame below the engine deck. I suspect weed was involved. My guess is the same guy removed the old interior and replaced it with leather captains chairs and an overstuffed back seat. It sounds ignorant but looks great. The larger seats take up a little more interior room, but Im 6ft 3in and completely comfortable driving it.
The car comes with an engine stand, one new door panel, new uninstalled heater hoses, the old carb and fuel tank, and other sundry minor parts, (fuses, new radio antenna, fuel line, upholstery clips, etc.)
