The Volkswagen Kombi van reached iconic status, with even a school lunch box fashioned in its image. During those early years, the Volkswagen Microbus morphed into various forms. From a cargo carrier with no windows behind the driver's seat to a windowed passenger van with three rows of seats, the possibilities seemed endless.

Arguably the ultimate 1970s and 1980s status symbol of wealth and success, the Rolls-Royce Corniche was a car sought after by many but one only the fortunate few could afford. Designed and intended to be enjoyed by their lucky owners in warm-weather climates, each Corniche took four months to be hand built, with two weeks spent on the convertible top alone. With a list price of well over $100,000 each car utilized only the finest materials Britain had to offer, including Wilton wool carpeting, Connolly leather, and carefully selected burl walnut veneer. First introduced in 1971, the Corniche remained in production for nearly 25 years and over this time, these cars were periodically updated to keep them both modern and relevant. The Corniche II, the model's first major revision, was introduced in 1977 and included new rack-and-pinion steering, alloy and rubber bumpers which replaced the earlier chrome bumpers, along with an oil cooler, aluminum radiator, and bi-level air conditioning system.
The 1973 Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible featured here is finished in the stunning color combination of Nutmeg Brown over a matching brown leather interior and beige power folding convertible top. This particular example has been meticulously maintained from new and presents wonderfully today with only 21,386 miles on the odometer. The numbers matching V8 engine and the original lambswool carpets are still present! In 2017 over $10,000 was invested to ensure that this Rolls-Royce performs as well as it presents and this example will certainly bring many years of enjoyment to its future caretaker.
