1973 Porsche 911S 2.4L MFI Targa Chassis No. 9113310051 Engine No. 6330152 Matching Transmission No. 7330856 - Matching Completed August 1972 1973 was the final year of the classic long-hood 911, finished in its original color combination of Silver Metallic over Black upholstery. Factory options include US Equipment, tinted glass, manual antenna, and noise suppression. Cosmetically, this 911S has been well-preserved, repainted in its original color, and has some patina that is appropriate for a high-level driver. The original trim and glass are in excellent condition, and the flat 6 Fuch alloy rims have been refinished and mounted to Michelin P6000 185 70 R15 tires. The interior is in fantastic condition; the comfort seats have been recently upholstered with houndstooth inserts, with German carpets, and the Porsche dash has been replaced. Complete with VDO gauges, a VDM leather-wrapped steering wheel with a deluxe horn ring, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio. This 2.4L 911S has had consistent care and investment from dedicated Porsche enthusiasts, believed to have spent most of its life in California, acquired in 2012 by Theodore Gildred of Solana Beach, California, with approximately 43,500 miles showing on the odometer. Under his ownership, European Motorsports an independent Porsche specialist in Vista, California, performed a comprehensive top-end engine rebuild; key items included new Mahle pistons and cylinders, a valve job, timing chain service, and the front calipers were rebuilt. The next owner in Naples, Florida, from 2021 2023, spent over $14,000 on mechanical and cosmetic improvements. Work included new suspension bushings, going through the fuel system, rebuilding the brake components, and installing new Michelin tires. The 911S returned to Southern California in 2023, and the past owner continued its care through regular services at Autowerkes in Huntington Beach, California. Recent maintenance includes installation of six new injectors, valve adjustments, ignition components, and the Targa top was redone with new German vinyl, and the B-pillar vinyl was upholstered, $8,788 was spent. Mechanically, it is powered by a matching 2.4-liter flat-six engine with mechanical fuel injection (MFI) producing 190 hp at 6,500 rpm paired to the matching manual 5-speed transmission (Type 915) with a four-wheel disc braking system. Complete with Porsche Classic Technical Certificate, Targa keys, jack, spare wheel, radio, tool kit, and 13 years of service records. This 1973 911 S Targa is well-documented, sorted, and in excellent running and driving condition.
