Classic Car Overview

1973 MG MGB GT Rotisserie Restoration | 4-Speed Manual | Excellent Condition

This 1973 MG MGB GT underwent a comprehensive, multi-year cosmetic and mechanical restoration, resulting in an exceptionally well-sorted and beautifully finished example. Power comes from a 1.8-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission, delivering the classic balance and driving engagement.

The car was treated to a rotisserie restoration, and the attention to detail shows throughout. The paintwork and panel fit are excellentnear show quality. During the restoration, new rocker panels were installed before the car was refinished in its current rich red exterior color in 2023. The car rides on 14 Rostyle wheels wrapped in 175/70 Firestone FR680 tires.

Inside, the refurbished cabin presents beautifully, with front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black cloth with vinyl sides, complemented by new carpeting throughout. The rear seat pad has two small blemishes in the upholstery (see images). Features include a Smiths cabin heater, rear window defroster, front shoulder belts, a lockable glovebox, and replacement carpets. A leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts classic Smiths instrumentation, including a 120-mph speedometer, tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level.

Under the hood, the 1.8-liter inline-four breathes through dual SU side-draft carburetors with Cooper air cleaners.

The undercarriage is exceptionally clean, rust-free, and showcases fresh, rebuilt components throughout, reflecting the cars careful restoration and limited use since completion.

Overall, this 1973 MGB GT represents a very nice example of the modelcombining authentic restoration work, strong mechanicals, and a beautifully finished presentation ready for immediate enjoyment.
