Classic Car Overview

The beautiful Bronco we present for sale is a 1973 Wagon model which was built in March of 73' at the Michigan Ford Truck plant and sold new to the San Jose area. The truck was ordered with the Extra Heavy Duty pkg, Ranger trim, 302ci V8, C4 Automatic transmission, 9-inch 1330 lb rear axle, and was originally finished in Copper Metallic.

This Bronco has recently received extensive restoration, including a frame off refurb, full bare metal respray, and pretty much new components every where you look. The motor is a Ford Performance 302 V8 with Edelbrock aluminum E-Street cylinder heads with the Performer Plus cam kit, Edelbrock Thunder series 4bbr carburetor w/electric choke, Edelbrock chrome air cleaner and RPM aluminum intake manifold. Other upgrades are MSD electronic ignition, performance headers, dual 2.5" exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers, Vintage Air Conditioning with an electric auxiliary cooling fan, Centech fuse box and new wiring harness. The front axel is a Dana 44 with Warn manual locking hubs, the rear remains the original 9-inch. A Wild Horses "J Shifter Twin Stick" handles the transfer case. The suspension was also modified with the 3.5-inch lift kit from Wild Horses including springs, shocks, and shackles as well as a rear sway bar and front stabilizer bar. Big, beefy 33-inch BF Goodrich tires are wrapped around beautiful 15-inch Mickey Thompson "Classic III" polished alloy wheels and really give the Bronco a strong stance. A HydroBoost power kit with disks up front was installed to help modernize the braking on the truck. The body was completely refinished in beautiful, show quality, Vermillion Red paint with a white hard top and also had the fender flairs molded in for a cleaner look. All chrome trim was replated or replaced as well as all of the weather seals. Power, retractable running boards drop down when you open the doors and disappear under the body when they are closed. Hydraulic lift struts are fitted to both the front hood and the rear hatch to make opening and closing a breeze. Inside the cabin you will find the delux Ranger trim package with basket weave seat upholstery, padded door panels and rear cargo side panels, and complete, plush, full length carpeting. The floors were covered in a Wild Horses sound deadening kit before carpet install. The headliner was redone in padded, perforated, ivory vinyl to give the interior a more luxurious feel. There is also a color matched roll cage installed to protect rear seat occupants. Other trick modern touches include, billet alloy pedals, Bronco scripted alloy sill plates, billet door locks, LED lighting for the instrument cluster, accessory gauges, day/night mirror, Tuffy Box center console, and a nice thick, 14-inch LeCarra leather steering wheel with polished aluminum spokes. and Ididit tilt steering column. The hard top mounting holes were replaced with nutserts for easier removal although it has not been off the truck since restoration.

Driving the Bronco is an awesome experience, you sit nice and high up, the engine starts easily with a deep throaty sound, the transmission shifts very smoothly and the steering is tight, everything feels new, as it should. The modern Vintage AC is a welcome addition in the warmer months and will help dehumidify the cabin in the wet weather. The looks, thumbs up, waves, comments, and admiration you get when cruising down the road becomes a normal occurrence after a couple of trips out and is all part of the fun of owning a classic Bronco. The love for these icons after all is what prompted Ford to build a new, modern version of the Bronco but the new ones just don't have the same magic somehow as the originals. With all the hard work done and dialed in, this red beast is ready to thrill its next owner and will surly reward you with many fun memories!
