A true icon of Ferraris illustrious history, this 1973 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona is a remarkable example of the last classic-era front-engine V12 Ferrari. With just 18,301 documented miles, this vehicle has been exceptionally well-maintained and is offered with extensive service and maintenance records. The car features an excellent repaint approx 25 years ago in its original Rosso Chiaro (Red) 20-R-190, beautifully complementing the original black leather seats and trim, which remain in superb condition after over five decades.
The 365 GTB/4 Daytona marked a pivotal moment in Ferraris evolution. While the Daytona name was unofficially bestowed by the media to celebrate Ferraris 1-2-3 victory at the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona, it has since become legendary despite the name never being officially recognized by Enzo Ferrari himself.
First introduced at the 1968 Paris Salon, the 365 GTB/4 broke away from Ferraris traditional design language with its aggressive and angular profile, designed by Pininfarinas Leonardo Fioravanti. The cars bodywork, assembled by Scaglietti, consists of a steel shell with aluminum doors and lids mounted over a steel-tube chassis with a fiberglass inner tub.
Chassis no. 16683 retains its original 4.4-liter Colombo V12 engine, mated to a matching-number gearbox, and is equipped with six dual-barrel Weber 40DCN 21/A carburetors. With 352 horsepower and 315 lb-ft of torque, this V12 powerhouse propels the Daytona from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.4 seconds, with a top speed of 174 mph figures that set the benchmark for supercars of its era.
