1973 Datsun 240Z

The Nissan S30, sold in Japan as the Nissan Fairlady Z but was badged as the Datsun 240Z, 260Z and 280Z for export, are 2-seat sports cars produced by Nissan from 1969 until 1978. The S30 was conceived by Yutaka Katayama and is the first car in Nissan's Z series of sports cars which revolutionized the US market by offering affordable and reliable high-performance engineering. 1973 marked the final model year of the Datsun 240Z. This particular example retains its original L24 2.4L inline 6-cylnder engine and 4 speed manual transmission. The original engine was rebuilt in the 1990s and properly stored until 2026 when this project was brought to life. During its transformation it received a widebody kit that you would swear came from the factory it is so clean. It also received new floor pans that were sealed and undercoated. After that it was painted in a gorgeous Cool Gray Khaki that looks amazing and really gives this car some character as the color is so unique. Once brought out of storage in 2026 the engine received all new fluids and filters and was fit with a cam and a set of triple Weber carbs that perform as well as they look. It was also fitted with a set of long tube headers that sound amazing ripping through its performance exhaust system. The interior is all new with a custom black leather, deviated red stitching and carpeting throughout. The center console is the one thing in need of finishing as there is no stereo and a storage tray is missing. From the exterior it looks amazing with the 15-gallon stainless steel fuel cell poking out of the bottom, the nice chrome work, the LED headlights and the Center Line Auto Drag rims wrapped in Toyo Proxes R888Rs with 205/50R15s up front and a wider set of 235/50R15s on the rear. The only tings that need to be addressed besides the small interior appointments previously mentioned are that the heat and A/C do not work nor do the turn signals. All said and done well over 20K has been spent bringing this sweet Z to its present state. Based on its present condition we would conservatively rank it as a #3 car and as such would appraise at the current JD Power Average Retail value which is $40,000. We are serious about finding a new home for this gem and have priced it aggressively so if you like what you see time is of the essence!
