If you're a fan of vintage Japanese cars, be sure to check out Nissan's online heritage site. There are tons of vintage Nissan pics and specs going all the way back to the 1920s. Each featured car or truck has relevant specs and a little "detail" tab that gives some background on that specific car.
The Volkswagen Kombi van reached iconic status, with even a school lunch box fashioned in its image. During those early years, the Volkswagen Microbus morphed into various forms. From a cargo carrier with no windows behind the driver's seat to a windowed passenger van with three rows of seats, the possibilities seemed endless.
Classic Car Overview
Selling my heavily mechanically modified 1971 1800E. Fun, and Fast little Volvo.
Rebuilt, .040 over pistons, Isky VV-91 rally cam, ported head with oversize valves from a Chevy small block, (common Vintage Volvo mod), double valve springs, IPD aluminum valve cover. Electronic Ignition. A lot of the work done by Vol-Tech in Portland.
rebuilt by Vol-Tech, 4spd manual with working overdrive. (5th gear)
Shifts tight and smooth, never had any problems.
Re-cored radiator keeps it cool in the summer.
Completely redone brake system with brand new IPD stainless brake lines, new Master Cylinder, new rear rotors and the fronts were freshly turned. All 4 calipers rebuilt, new pads, new E-Brake Cable.Under 3,000 miles on the new brakes.
$1000 Custom exhaust system, 2.5" 14 gauge piping, with pro header built by a former member of Stahl Racing Headers. Custom made stainless tip that sits flush with the body.
Racing style suspension. VPD Sport lowering springs with progressive fronts and IPD rears. Much better than standard ipd non progressive sport springs. Bilstein shocks, all newer poly bushings bushings in the rear. The front bushings are rubber and were replaced years ago. It would probably drive even better with some poly bushings up front though. Front shock towers were professionally reinforced by Line Up Shop to avoid common issues.
Rare Ipd LSD (posi) rear end installed, not a one tire fryer anymore! A very nice upgrade.
Even Rarer IPD adjustable fuel mixture ECU.
