1972 Porsche 911E 2.4-liter MFI Targa VIN 9112210621 Engine No. 6221192 - Matching Completed April of 1972 Delivered new by Robertson Porsche Audi Inc. in New Orleans, Louisiana on May 21, 1972, with 30 miles to the first owner, Mr. Reisman, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Dealer services are recorded in the Maintenance Booklet from 1972 to 1973, with 21,972 miles by the original dealer. Originally born in Gemini Blue Metallic (330), it is currently finished in Silver Metallic over a Black interior. The exterior is in very nice overall condition with minimal paintwork flaws and great gaps and panel fit. The front bumper is a 911S with chrome bumperettes. The brightwork, trim, and deco trim are original and have some patina. The windshield has been replaced, and the rest of the glass is original and has Sekurit stampings. The interior is in very good condition and features an original steering wheel with a deluxe butterfly horn ring, VDO instrumentation, and a set of CoCo mats. The flat 6 x 15 Fuchs alloy wheels have been restored and are mounted to Sprint Classic Vredestein 185 HR15 tires (date coded 2023). The undercarriage is solid and rust-free and has been recently detailed. According to the service history on file, Mr. Wheeler owned this 911E from 1991-2011. Under his care, the 911E was serviced by a Porsche specialist in Knoxville, Tennessee. By 2011, the 911E was sold to its past owner, who had the vehicle serviced by Lufteknic in Richmond, Virginia. At 86,793 miles, Lufteknic performed a suspension overhaul, which included replacing Koni shocks, Koni struts, front ball joints, sway bar bushings, stabilizer arms, and decklid struts. Around the same time, stainless-steel heat exchangers were installed. On April 12, 2024, at 86,866 miles, Lufteknic performed an engine oil and filter service. In May 2024, European Collectibles purchased this 911E 2.4-liter and performed the following work: -Reupholster the Targa top -Restore Fuchs alloy wheels 6 x 15 -Install new carpets -Install new Vredestein Sprint Classic tires -Ice blast engine and install new decals -Install new hot air hoses -Tumble the fan and CAD plated the pulley -Restored the VDO instrumentation Powered by the matching 2.4-liter MFI flat-six engine producing 165 horsepower paired to a manual 5-speed transmission (Type 915) with four-wheel disc brakes. Complete with original maintenance record booklet, technical specifications booklet, owners manual, and 33 years of service history. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a 2.4-liter 911E presented in a beautiful color combination.
