Classic Car Overview
RESTORED, 400, FACTORY 4 SPEED
This is one good looking Pontiac GTO! It wears its factory color, code 26 Lucerne Blue with factory vinyl white stripes running down both sides, up against the blue exterior that really makes it stand out from others. The body is exceptionally clean. Looking down both sides, it is very straight. It has newer door seals and new weather stripping. The bumper is original and in good shape. It sits on a set of original Rally II wheels with a set of newer Mickey Thompson tires.
The interior of this GTO is in excellent shape. The Black interior really looks nice. The door panels, headliner and visors are in excellent shape. Looking forward to the dash, all the gauges are nice and the lenses are clear and the dash pad is very nice. It has factory Rally gauges and a tachometer. The factory console is nice and has a factory Hurst shifter coming up out of it. It also features the optional formula sport steering wheel. There is an AM/FM radio. Overall the interior is in very good shape.
The undercarriage is very impressive. It appears to be all clean and original metal, no signs of any patches. As I looked up at the motor, I noticed it to be very clean as well as the original muncie M20 4 speed manual transmission. The E-brake assembly is complete and working. It also has a factory style exhaust system with correct chrome splitter exhaust tips that dump out on each side behind the rear tires. It features a F41 suspension, 3:55 Safe-T-Track rear end, newer gas tank, straps and sending unit. Everything appears to be correct.
The engine compartment is very impressive and detailed to factory specs. It has a WK 400 ci engine, it has been completely rebuilt to Ram Air IV specs. It bears casting #481988. It has the correct manifolds, Ram Air air cleaner and correct chrome valve covers, correct spring type battery cables, cadmium plated brake booster with correct dual master cylinder. Other features include power steering and power brakes. All of the metal surfaces are painted and have a satin black finish.
The trunk compartment is rock solid original metal. The trunk floor is spatter painted. It comes equipped with a spare tire, jack assembly and trunk mat and newer weather stripping.
This is a gorgeous GTO that has been very well cared for! It is fully documented, one of 1,519 factory GTO 4 speed cars built in 1972. Someone will be getting a great car!!
