1972 International Harvester Scout

This 1972 International Scout II is one of the few remaining right hand drive scouts build for export. It has under gone a frame off restoration. The frame was sand blasted, chemically treated to prevent future rusting, primed, and painted with three coats of period correct flat black paint. The front and rear suspension parts were all replaced.
All body parts were examined and replaced if they had any indication of rusting or body damage. The cab had some rusting issues and all areas were removed and replaced with new metal. The rear quarters and much of the floor was replaced with OEM parts. As with the frame, all body parts were chemically stripped, sand blasted then chemically treated to prevent future rusting. The parts were then epoxy primed and the original green and white colors were replaced with a metallic green and pearl white.
The International 304 industrial truck engine underwent a complete rebuild with the head rebuilt to allow for use of non-leaded fuel. The electrical system was upgraded with new wiring, alternator, starter, and electrical parts. The brakes were rebuilt with original drums and shoes on the front and rear. While the brakes were being upgraded new wheel bearing were installed. The rear end was rebuilt using original rear end gears. The transmission and transfer case were rebuilt. An AC and heater system was added along with a 6-blade cooling fan.

Frame: Alignment, Sandblasting, Prime and Paint
Front Suspension: Shock Absorbers, Leaf Springs resprung and new bushings, U Bolts, Spring Bumpers, Spring Shackles, and original style torsion bar

AC and Heater: Old Air Complete AC and Heater System designed for this vehicle
Steering: All components were inspected and replaced as required.

Bed Parts: New quarter panels, new side panel caps, Tail Gate refinished, Tailgate supports, Tailgate Hinge, Bed Cross Sill and multiple other parts were replaced with OEM parts.
