Classic Car Overview

1972 Ford Bronco Sport 4x4
TDK Frame, AC, PS, PB

Available for sale is a beautifully restored 1972 Ford Bronco Sport 4×4, the final year of the desirable early Bronco generation and one of the most iconic American 4x4s ever produced. Purchased by the current owner in 2019, the truck subsequently underwent a comprehensive professional build with expenditures totaling over $130,000. Since completion, the Bronco has seen just over 500 miles of use.

This build was completed by AZ Street Customs of Phoenix, Arizona, a shop known for high-end, one-off custom builds and full restorations, with multiple vehicles featured at the SEMA Show. Their work reflects true show-level execution, with careful attention to both form and function throughout. From the stance and finish work to the mechanical execution, this is not a casual buildits a properly thought-out, professionally executed custom.

Finished in its original Hot Ginger Metallic over a tan leather interior with houndstooth inserts, the truck is powered by a rebuilt factory Ford 302 V8 paired with a 3-speed manual transmission and dual-range transfer case. The body was mounted to a Throttle Down Kustoms (TDK) replacement frame, and upgrades include Vintage Air air conditioning, Painless Wiring, power steering, power brakes with front discs, Edelbrock induction, a 3-inch suspension lift, and custom steel wheels wrapped in 31×10.50R15LT Goodyear Wrangler Raised White Letter tires. The sale includes build documentation and restoration invoices.

The exterior was restored to better than factory during the recent build. Metalwork included replacement of the right-front inner fender, inner and outer rocker panels, rear lower quarter panels, and one front fender before final body preparation and refinishing in Hot Ginger Metallic, a striking color that complements the Broncos classic design. During the build, the body was mounted to a new Throttle Down Kustoms replacement frame, one of the most respected heavy-duty chassis solutions for classic Broncos.

Exterior features include a white removable hardtop, Bronco Ranger Sport-style chrome trim, swing-away spare tire carrier, and dual mirrors, along with stainless hardware used throughout the reassembly. The truck rides on powder-coated 15-inch steel wheels with fabricated hubcaps, wrapped in 31×10.50R15LT Goodyear Wrangler Raised White Letter tires, giving the Bronco a purposeful stance enhanced by the installed 3-inch suspension lift.

The interior was fully refurbished and fitted with custom tan upholstery featuring houndstooth-style inserts on the front bucket seats and rear bench. The body-color dashboard houses a RetroSound vintage-style stereo, while a Vintage Air air-conditioning system provides modern climate control. Additional interior work included installation of Dynamat sound insulation in the roof and floors, along with a roll cage for added structural support and safety. The glovebox door carries a Ranger badge, completing the classic Bronco aesthetic with subtle upscale touches.

Instrumentation consists of a 100-mph speedometer with surrounding gauges for voltage, fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The odometer was reset during the build and currently shows just over 500 miles since completion.

Mechanical refurbishment included rebuilding the factory 302 cubic-inch V8, which was upgraded with an Edelbrock intake manifold and four-barrel carburetor, along with short-tube headers and a dual exhaust system. The engine bay presents well with finned 302 Powered by Ford valve covers, a chrome brake booster, and an aftermarket air cleaner assembly.

Power is delivered through a rebuilt 3-speed manual transmission and dual-range transfer case, sending power to either the rear wheels or all four wheels as conditions require. Additional mechanical upgrades include power steering, power-assisted brakes, front disc brakes, and a Painless Wiring harness, along with a 21-gallon fuel tank for extended range.

Due to installation of the Throttle Down Kustoms replacement frame, Arizona law required issuance of an assigned VIN (AZ387234). The original factory VIN was U15GLN94359.

This Bronco represents a well-executed professional build combining the rugged character of the early Bronco with thoughtful modern upgrades for drivability and comfort. Showing minimal use since completion and benefiting from significant investment, it presents as a high-quality, well-sorted example of one of Americas most desirable classic 4x4s, ready to enjoy.
