Classic Car Overview
1972 El Camino. I will be adding more photos and information soon. Serious inquiries only. This vehicle is part of my deceased Father's estate still in probate. Vehicle currently resides in Largo, Florida. Great condition. Owner History: This vehicle was my Father's uncle's car--this uncle was a master mechanic who restored antique vehicles (The Shoe Box Shop , Hodgenville, Ky owned by the late Jimmy Hornback-follow this link to see his workshop https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fgb_sXnxSWM ). My Father purchased the vehicle in October of 2020. He enjoyed it for less than one year before his passing.
Vehicle has the original title, all the Vintage Air booklets used to restore the vehicle in 2009 (used a 1970-1972 Chevelle kit for AC, control panel, wiring kit, --has the warranty registration cards for parts). Power windows, AC, anti-lock brakes, power steering, new (added in 2021) custom kick panel speakers. Engine is a small block V8. Automatic. Runs great. The vehicle is priced at what my Father purchased the vehicle for in Oct 2020. He put in a new carb after his purchase in OCt 2020. We are firm at $21,000.
An antidote about the car:
I drove this car back in February after a meal at Cabby's Dockside in Pinellas County FL. DAD actually let me drive it.
I'm 5'2". The bench seat's closest setting to the dash still left me driving the car nearly reclining. It felt like I was wielding a tamed mullet. This car felt like work and play. You could be cruisin while hauling a couple bags of mulch, tools, etc.
Driving this...you had all eyes on you. The car is a smile inducer. A few men meeting us in traffic leaned out of their rolled down windows to give thumbs up as we cruised north on Gulf Blvd. It was odd..it was awesome. This car was joyful but still an animal to weild. The heavy body of a car this age locks all your senses into the experience. It's not a fluffy ride like my new car. The El Camino demanded my attention instead of babying me.
This car needs to be cruised about town. It needs to cruise in the sunshine. Be pampered like a retired work horse. Sugar cubes and brushin's from now on. No more work...just play. Honestly....I'd love to see another boomer enjoy this car. Dad had this car too short of a time...just as we had him too short of a time.
