Classic Car Overview

For many C3 fans, the 1972 model year was the last of the good ones. The reasons were admittedly mostly aesthetic, as 1972 was the last year of the stylish front and rear chrome bumpers as well as the last year for the the removeable rear window and grate-style side vents.

Here, we have a 1972 Corvette coupe that boasts just one owner as well as a numbers-matching powertrain. The body is in nice driver quality condition with its gleaming paint and chrome/stainless-steel trim.

This unique vette strikes us as a Day 2 customization as it has an early 1970s-style custom paint scheme that looks to be inspired by the Baldwin-Motion Corvettes of the time. It also has an L88 style hood and a set of super rare and period-correct Fenton chrome wheels.

The interior is in very good shape apart from minor wear to the drivers door panel and this example is fairly loaded as the factory options include A/C, tilt/telescopic steering wheel and an AM/FM stereo radio. You cant help but notice the aftermarket features that include a vintage, dial-style car phone and an 8-track player for those Chicago and Zeppelin tapes.

Under the long hood is the factory-issued 350 4-barrel V8 that sends the power to the Positraction rear end via an automatic transmission. Power steering and power disc brakes complete the mechanical specs while the rumbling side exhaust adds to the fun of piloting this cool Corvette custom.

Having been recently serviced, this Corvette is ready to go. Out on the road it sounds and drives great, while its old-school mild custom touches separate it from the other C3s at your local Cars and Coffee.
