FEDERAL EMISSIONS REGULATIONS VEHICLE COMPLIANCE -- STARTING 1975 AND NEWER:
Beginning in 1975, the Federal Government mandated that all new vehicles must meet specific emissions regulations. Auto manufacturers complied with these regulations starting in 1975 by installing various emissions control devices on every new vehicle produced including Corvettes. These regulations continue to be enforced on all models up to this present year.
All vehicles starting with the 1975 model year must have their emissions control systems active and operating properly. Removal of these emission controls installed on any Corvette starting with the 1975 model year is a Federal Offense and subject to significant fines. Check with your state and county government for compliance details pertaining to the model year Corvette you will be purchasing.
TheVetteNet.com cannot guarantee any vehicle 1975 or newer we have listed for sale will pass the emissions inspection in your state. It is your responsibility to make whatever repairs necessary so your vehicle will pass your local mandatory emission tests in your state. The 1972 model was the last one featuring Chromed Steel bumpers, a classy touch that, unfortunately, was nixed by the insurance companies due to the high replacement costs. Also, due to infamous oil crisis of the time, the engines, even with the same displacements, were severely de-tuned and endowed with power-robbing emissions requirements. Nevertheless, today's enthusiasts driven by the good ole' times nostalgia, are quite appreciative of the style and appeal of this vintage.
Our offer today is a T-Top Coupe which had owner since new, before it was acquired by actual owner in 2023. It has only 46K miles, all documented, in addition to all the original delivery paperwork and complete records. Not only that, at 44K miles, it was certified as NCRS Top Flight, scoring an impressive 94.1 points.
Virtually everything is original on the car, starting with the factory Bryar Blue paint (code 945), standard Black interior, 4-speed manual transmission, Power Steering, AM/FM radio. All gauges and instruments are in working order, horn works, radio works... As mentioned, all docs are there: factory invoice, Protect-O-Plate, manuals, purchase order, etc, in addition to the original leather bags. Vacuum operated headlights and wiper door cover are fully functional.
Practically, this Vette needs nothing and it looks and performs according to its original miles, 46K. It certainly brings back memories and would make a nice addition to a collection, also, a reliable show car/occasional driver.
