Classic Car Overview

1972 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible - Virgina Car - 454ci/270hp V8 - 4 Speed Manual - Power Steering, Power Brakes - Last Year of Both Chrome Bumpers (Please note: If you happen to be viewing this 1972 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible. on a website other than our Garage Kept Motors site, its possible that youve only seen some of our many photographs of the car due to third-party website limitations. To be sure you access all the more than 145 photographs, as well as a short start-up and walk-around video, please go to our main website: Garage Kept Motors.) You cant get a better overall performance car. Id be hard-pressed to find a better car, for the money, than the Vette. Its just an incredible automobile. Tony DeLorenzo, Motor Trend road-test reviewer, June 1972 The Motorious website described the early-Seventies C3 Vettes: The differences between the 1971 and the 1972 Stingray are minimal. Corvettes 1971 model was the last model to feature fiber-optic warning lights while the 1972 Stingray was the first to have amber-colored front turn signals and a chrome egg-crate grill. The 1972 Stingray was also the last production year for chrome front and rear bumpers. Beyond these minor differences, the 71 and 72 models were basically the same. Both models were available in either a convertible coupe body style or a sports coupe body style. Many Stingray fans refer to the convertible as a roadster. However, with roll-up windows and windshield that is fixed, this model was a true convertible. When it comes to classic cars, the most beloved Corvette models that most folks enjoy and remember are the hidden-headlight Corvettes mainly due to their longevity on the Corvette and the sleekness and sexiness they produce for the vehicle! No other American-made classic car enjoys such a long, long history of uniqueness as does the Corvette. Offered here in Classic White over Saddle is a 1972 Corvette Stingray Convertible 454 big block. The cars odometer shows 69,796 miles, fewer than 1,425 miles per-year since it was delivered new at Rosenthal Chevrolet of Arlington, Washington. The condition of the car for its age reflects responsible-owner care through the years. The original window sticker (included in the sale and presented in the accompanying photo gallery) details the cars original equipment. That the document has been kept for nearly 50 years is another indicator of the owners passion for the Corvette. The Classic White (Code 1010) exterior paint is original; its condition is excellent with even high gloss across all fiberglass body panels, in particular the 454-badged raised hood. (To best assess the quality of the paint and trim finishes, be sure to view the close-up photographs of the car in the accompanying gallery.) In part, Classic reflects the fact that this shade of white dates to the first Corvette and has been offered yearly since then. This Vette is equipped with a light-tan fabric top as well as a removable black-vinyl hardtop, both in excellent condition. Chrome bumpers fore and aft (their final model year) are in excellent condition; likewise the chrome windshield trim (with slight patina from age), and chrome-accented fender louvers. Side mirrors and door handles show virtually no wear. The twin front eggcrate-style lower grilles and chin spoiler are in original, excellent condition. Cabin glass, and lighting lenses-including on the pop-up headlights-are clear and undamaged. Factory badging-including crossed-flags emblems on the hood and rear deck, Stingray script on the front fenders, and C-o-r-v-e-t-t-e lettering on the rear-is all properly located and mounted. Square, original dual-exhaust tips are in place, as is the lock for the theft-prevention system. Original silver-painted steel wheels with chrome, Chevrolet Motor Division center caps and trim rings are mounted with raised-white-letter BFGoodrich Radial T/A Radial 255/60/R15 tires. The cars interior has been very well-main
