Classic Car Overview

Good, clean honest trucks like this 1972 Chevrolet C10 Cheyenne are harder to find than youd think. Most of them were used as trucks, and those that are still around are either major projects or high-end builds that look far nicer than they did when they were new. But sometimes you find one thats just right, a truck like this thats ready to work or play and looks great doing it. Looking at the Medium Green and White two-tone paint, this truck neatly balances good looks with practicality. There are a few bumps and bruises and the paint almost has a well-preserved survivor look, but if you want one of these rugged haulers, this is about as clean and affordable as they get. And it does have a great look, with a soft shine to the paint and nothing wears two-tone and woodgrain trim better than a Bowtie pickup. It doesnt seem to have many deviations from stock, and while its an older repaint, it has the look of vintage paint, suggesting that its always been well maintained. Its a real-deal Cheyenne, which means a lot of stainless trim to dress it up, including the rocker trim with woodgrained inserts that are the perfect complement from the 70s. The bed is in good condition because it was repainted with the rest of the truck, and today it only shows minor signs of use. But that doesnt mean its not ready, willing, and able! Houndstooth and woodgrain is the right choice for the interior, and this one is definitely well done. The vinyl and cloth bench seat is in great condition and firm enough to drive all day without getting grumpy, and the Cheyenne package added the woodgraining to warm things up and a little more detail on the upholstery. Fresh green carpets help make it feel a bit dressed up inside and quiets things down when youre cruising. The gauges and steering wheel are crisp and clear, and we truly think this is one of the best-looking instrument panels ever put into a pickup. You also get a smooth shifting automatic transmission, which transforms this truck from able-bodied hauler to genuinely fun to drive. It also has factory A/C with an R134a upgrade, as well as an AM/FM/Cassette radio that looks like its been playing in there for decades. Just get in and go! The engine is a Vortec 350 V8 crate, which provides plenty of power in the relatively lightweight C10, especially with upgrades like a mild cam and electric choke. The engine bay is very clean but shows minor signs of having been used as intended, which means that it runs right and doesnt have major issues. A chrome air cleaner, a Holley 600CFM carburetor, Accel ignition system, and longtube headers that feed a nice-sounding dual exhaust system all mean that this is a truck thats designed to be used. It starts easily and idles well, and the 350 is torquey and powerful enough to make driving it fun. The TH400 3-speed automatic transmission shifts nicely and there are reasonable gears out back, so its quick enough for todays traffic but cruises easily at highway speeds, especially thanks to the aid of power steering, along with the stopping prowess of power front disc brakes. The undercarriage is honest, solid and clean, evidence of a long life spent in the South. Handsome Rally wheels look great and are fitted with brand new 275/60/15 Cooper Cobra radials. A handsome truck thats still ready to work yet delivers more fun than expected, all at a very appealing price. And a Cheyenne to boot. Call today!
