VW Kombi Van Seeing Resurgence in Popularity

The Volkswagen Kombi van reached iconic status, with even a school lunch box fashioned in its image. During those early years, the Volkswagen Microbus morphed into various forms. From a cargo carrier with no windows behind the driver's seat to a windowed passenger van with three rows of seats, the possibilities seemed endless.

Classic Car Overview

A beautiful car..........very good Triumph red paint, excellent chrome, and excellent black interior.

Info from last owner: engine rebuilt 2,000 miles ago and fitted with a higher lift camshaft. Carbs rebuilt. In our examination, unusually lively performance, VERY smooth acceleration, excellent oil pressure, no smoke, idles nicely, great engine. And engine bay is spotless.

Top looks like new, same with boot cover. Excellent wood dashboard, nice aftermarket wood steering wheel, perfect carpets, panels, and seats. Even the trunk carpet and panels are excellent.

No rust underneath, excellent chassis and floors, same with rockers and seils. No bubbling on the body top seams, and all of the chrome looks like new.

All gauges and electrics work, recently had a new alternator, exhaust is quiet, no clunks from the rear suspension when starting from stop. Brakes work well, tires are near new, and the wiring harness has not been worn or ripped apart. Cardboard around radiator is excellent and has its original overflow bottle.

Windshield looks new as does the rubber seal and compression strip. Really spotless. In fact, in most details, it really appears to be a 'restored' car (my definition of 'restored' usually means complete disassembled and rebuilt while a car such as this would be referred to as 'reconditioned').

Just about ideal for a classic car for cruising, around town, or the proverbial country roads. And certainly sufficiently clean to be used as a low key show car. With no embarrassment whatsoever.

(and odometer shows 31,000 miles, original or 'other?' Dunno)
