Classic Car Overview

1971 Triumph GT6 Meticulously Built, Street Legal, Track Capable

Offered for sale is this 1971 Triumph GT6, the product of an extremely thoughtful, meticulous, and professional build. Designed for competitive track use yet surprisingly well-mannered on the street, this GT6 represents the perfect balance between performance and drivability. This GT6 is exceptionally well-tuned, starting easily every time and runs exceptionally well. Although it is a purpose-built performance car, it is surprisingly tractable and comfortable for street driving. It has a clean California title and is registered for street use. We have just installed LED headlights, turn signals, GPS speedometer / odometer, and Racewire turn signal headlight combination switch.

Engine & Drivetrain
Power comes from a professionally built GT6 race engine by the highly reputable, Pete Christensen of Total Precision Engines in Fort Collins, Colorado, with only approximately 4 to 5 hours of track use over the last three years. Engine features include a roller rocker valve train (no adjustment required), extended-capacity oil pan, windage tray, spider oiling system, Accusump, oil cooler, and remote oil filter. Fuel delivery is handled by a Holley fuel pump with a backup pump already installed. AN fittings and braided fuel lines are used throughout, and ignition is upgraded to a 123 Ignition system.

The transmission is a 1973 TR6 unit mated to a hydraulic throw-out bearing, with a clutch bleed nipple conveniently located in the engine compartment. The rear differential runs a 3.89 ratio with solid CV axles and a 1-inch spacer to lower the car. An expensive high-torque starter ensures quick and reliable starts every time. Exhaust exits through custom headers into a single straight pipe, with two new mufflers recently fitted to allow for comfortable street use. Induction is via Stromberg carburetors.

Suspension, Brakes & Handling
The car sits one inch lower in the rear, with front coilover shocks and suspension retaining straps, and adjustable shocks in the rear. High-strength aluminum spindles and an extremely stiff, bulletproof front sway bar deliver precise handling. Stopping power comes from slotted front disc brakes.

Safety & Equipment
A brand-new fire suppression system is installed, with the suppression tank currently occupying the passenger seating areathis would need relocation if a passenger seat were added. The Accusump system occupies part of the passenger footwell but can also be relocated if desired. Five-point racing harnesses are installed and valid through 2025.

Wheels & Tires
The car comes with eight new Toyo Proxes R888 tires mounted on VTO rims, ensuring optimal grip both on the track and on spirited drives.
