The R107/C107 SL-Class, the successor to the classic Pagoda W113 SL, proved so popular the company produced it from 1971 to 1989, one of Mercedes-Benzs longest-running single series. Rather than attempt to meet the race-bred performance and looks of the original 300 SL, Mercedes focused more on a grand touring, personal luxury car feel for their new SL. Over its production run, the car received a series of ever-larger V8s along with a series of Inline-6s. Any R107 is an exceptional machine, with a long list of amenities and remarkable performance.

In comparison to the European cars, US-market R107s received extra smog equipment and a distinctive set of four sealed beam headlamps. European models were also offered with a wider variety of engine options and manual transmissions, making them more desirable for enthusiasts. Regardless of locale, the R107 was an instant hit and featured in numerous television and film series, often as an indication of success. Recently, values of extremely well-kept R107 SLs have dramatically increased in value, with low-mileage examples naturally attracting the most interest.

The incredible 1971 Mercedes-Benz 350 SL Roadster featured here is finished in stunning Silver-Blue Metallic over a Dark Blue interior with a matching retractable soft top and a body-color removable hardtop. This is a first-year, early production 350 SL that was only available in Europe. With a high-compression 3.5L V8 and a four-speed manual transmission, this R107 SL is the perfect choice for a driving enthusiast. As one of only a few Euro-spec 350 SLs in the US and having been beautifully maintained since new, this 350 SL will be a great choice for any premier collection. I personally believe the investment potential of this rare and desirable Mercedes-Benz will grow beyond your imagination. Offered to the most sophisticated collector, investor, or enthusiast who understands and appreciates the rarity of this fantastic 350 SL.
