1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SL

-Silver Metallic with Tobacco Brown interior, Brown German square weave carpeting, Black cloth convertible as well as optional factory hardtop, Restored, 2.8 liter inline 6-cylinder engine, Automatic transmission, Becker Europa AM/FM radio and Factory air conditioning. The Mercedes W113 type, nick-named Pagoda due to a distinctive and patented concave hardtop roofline. Many see as one of the most beautiful cars ever built. All 280 SL models were equipped with an inline 6-cylinder engine with mechanical fuel injection. The comparatively short and wide chassis, combined with an excellent suspension, powerful brakes and radial tires gave the 280 SL superb handling for its time. This 280 SL has been restored by a well-known California restoration company some years ago, but remains in superb condition throughout with only the slightest wear to the whatsoever. The structure of this SL was excellent prior to restoration unlike many SLs due to their being used over the years in all weather condition and prone to rust. Please also note, this SL has never had any accident damage. It has been restored with European headlights and no USA side reflectors and thus has an extremely clean look with the Silver Metallic paint. It is also equipped with rare period air conditioning system which is blowing cold and as it was originally intended. The engine and transmission was rebuilt in total and also runs extremely well and as intended. This SL has been serviced when and where needed at all times and come with a proper maintenance file. In the no so distant past, this 280 had been driven from Southern California to Monterey and shown at The Quail A Motorsport Gathering during Augusts Monterey - Pebble Beach automobile festivities. Surely one of the finest 280SLs available on the market today, it has been driven approximately 1,500 miles since restoration and serviced as need, this 280 SL is complete with books, tools, jack and records.
