Ford’s first-generation off-roader has gone from cult classic to mainstream collector.
The Dodge Li'l Red Express set a standard on how to make a great performance truck. All Dodge Li'l Red Express trucks came from the factory painted in Bright Canyon Red in 1978 and Medium Canyon Red in 1979. Every Li'l Red Express was a regular cab Adventurer with a stepside bed.
Classic Car Overview
I purchased this truck last year, added all new fuel and brake lines; total brake job that cost $8,000. Below is the advertisement when I purchased the truck. Its a great truck for an everyday use or just fun. The truck received best truck of the show in a recent car show. I purchased a new truck so decided to sale.
This 1971 GMC K2500 Custom Pickup is a beautiful truck that came from the Pacific NW. It is rust free and has been restored. This was not a nut and bolt frame off restoration because it did not have to be. It was a frame on restored truck that was built to be driven and look excellent! We would consider this a higher end driver for someone. Great running and driving truck!! The body is clean and straight and when it was restored it was professionally repainted in its original color of Medium Blue with a Rhino Lined Bed. They added all new chrome and stainless, new weatherstripping, and new window rubbers when it was painted. The underside is original and super clean (not restored) which shows how nice this truck was when they restored it. We found no rust issues with this truck.
The interior was restored and looks excellent!! It has new custom seat upholstery with matching custom door panels. It has a new dash pad, new dash bezel, new steering wheel, and new rubber floor mat. They also put in new heater controls. The radio looks stock but is a modern style. The headlights, taillights, brake lights, and turn signals are all working. The gauges all work including the factory tachometer. The horn, heat, and wipers all work.
Mechanically this truck is excellent!!! It has a 5.7L GM Goodwrench 350 V8 engine that runs strong with no issues. Added new HEI distributor. The GM Quadrajet Carb has been remanufactured and has dual exhaust. Other than that everything looks pretty stock under the hood. It has the np435 4 Speed Manual transmission that shifts nice with a good clutch. It is mated to the np205 transfer case and the 4WD works like it should. The rear axle is a Dana 60 with 4.10 gears and the front axle is a Dana 44 with 4.10 gears. Both have been rebuilt. This truck has power steering and power front disc brakes. Also a new brake master cylinder and all new brakes. New emergency brake cables installed due to 4 lift. It has a great look with the 4 Inch Lift Kit and new shocks and it is sitting on a nice set of Aluminum Wheels with 35 Inch Cooper Discovery Tires. Awesome truck!
