Completed on 29 September 1971, chassis number 02656 offered here is a final E-Series example of the Dino 246 GT. These notably gained shortened front quarter bumpers above reshaped, circular intakes. Finished in Rosso Chiaro over a Nero vinyl interior, the Ferrari was delivered new to Germany via Auto Becker in Dsseldorf and bought by the Verlag Moderne Industrie publishing house based in the town of Landsberg am Lech.

The car was sold in September 1982, moving into the long-term ownership of Mr Jochen Wiete of Werther. A gearbox issue prompted Mr Wiete to place the Dino into storage, with the car next purchased by Mr Wolfgang Bennefeld of Bielefeld at the turn of the millennium. He kept the Ferrari for six years, prior to Mr Heinz-Jrgen Grewe of Hamm taking ownership in 2006 before tasking Werner Schulz with a restoration that lasted for two years. Chassis 02656 was then acquired in Mnster in 2010 and sold to a resident of Jena in 2016.

Acquired by the vendor in 2019, this Dino 246 GT presents in its factory colour combination and retains its matching-numbers engine and transmission. The Dino presents with the fitment of a rally tachometer and rides on Campagnolo magnesium wheels; it is further offered with a spare set of Dino Cromodora wheels. In 2023, the Ferrari participated in the Zoute Grand Prix. It now awaits its next custodian.
