1971 Datsun 240Z

This 1971 model year 240Z was built in August of 1970 and is finished in Red over black interior with grey cloth inserts on the seats. These early 240Zs are very sought after for their clean lines, and lightweight bodies with slim stainless bumpers. The Z has become a legend with Japanese car enthusiasts and values have seen significant gains over the last 10 years.
Not much is known as to the history of this particular car other than it was restored some time ago and still shows nicely today. The bodywork is clean and the paint shines well, all brightwork is in good condition. The interior is very well preserved and the dash, door cars, floors, headliner, and trim all look great. There is a modern Kenwood radio w/ bluetooth, USB, and Aux ports, the original radio is boxed and will come with the car. The wood rim steering wheel and gear knob are a nice classic touch and contrast well with the all black interior theme. Rear louvers sit on the rear window and was a very cool and common addition in period time. The 14 inch steel wheels are shod with original wheel covers and are fitted with modern Hankook radial all-season tires. There is a blend area to the R/R quarter panel that is visible under florescent lighting. The engine performs well but the car is a little cold blooded and needs the choke engaged in order to warm the car for a few minutes. The 4-speed gearbox was recently replaced and it shifts well, clutch feel is great. Brakes feel strong, and the car rides well over rough surfaces. The rear hatch lock will need to be repaired as it currently will not open the hatch.

Overall this is nice driver level 240Z that is very nice looking and can be shown at Cars and Coffee events or local shows. Purists might pick parts some little items that are not correct or non functioning but this is a great car that can be taken to the next level or enjoyed as-is. Included with the car is a car cover, original radio, some spare parts, and a clean WA title.
