Classic Car Overview

1971 Chevrolet C10 Stepside Shortbed Pickup For consignment, a 1971 Chevrolet C10 stepside shortbed pickup truck showing 4,814 miles, but the true miles are unknown. This truck has a newer 383ci stroker V8 and not long after it was painted in 1998, it won its class at the Super Chevy show. Exterior Purple flames are almost ghost-like as they streak down the sides of this black C10 which hunkers down on 15-inch chrome steel wheels and all of these things, along with the lack of center caps. gives the ride a bad boy persona. Up front, black accentuates the grille and headlight bezels while around back, extended round tail lights have been replaced with flush rectangles in the roll pan, and with the smoothed tailgate, the back is a wash of inky black paint, smooth as ice. A tan topped hard tonneau cover hovers over a clean bed with honey colored wood planks and stainless bed rails along with an access port to the fuel pump and gas shocks holding up the cover. Imperfections include areas of rough surfaces, a touched up chips, and some bubbling down low and areas of smaller bubbling. Interior Veering sharply from the typical plastic formed door card are the button tufted, diamond stitched mocha brown door panels with saddle brown carpeted lowers and they look great, finished with billet hand controls. Button tufted bucket seats in the same mocha occupy the cabin and the material is used to line the back wall as well, all in nice condition. Silky flowing wood is the construction of the Grant steering wheel which goes nicely with urethane coated wood faceplate that houses gold rimmed VDO classic gauges in the dash, and that wood has rich dark grains that pick up on the surrounding black dash pad and painted surfaces. The center where an AM/FM/Cassette player and fan panel reside, just over added ProComp gauges. More glossy wood on the glove box door and on the center console where a Winters racing shifter perches aggressively between the seats behind the EFI screen and in front of the NOS bottle. Brown carpet floods the floor nicely while tufted material lines the footwells, the headliner, and even the visors. Drivetrain It might feel like a vintage van conversion on the inside, but all bets are off when you raise the hood. Here, youll find a 383ci stroker V8 with a dyno proven 372 horsepower. It has an Eagle crank, H-beam rods, a 150hp nitrous system, Edelbrock heads and a FAST controlled EFI system. Behind it, a 4L80E 4-speed automatic with a 2600 rpm stall converter routing power to the 10 bolt rear with 3.42 gears. The bay presents cleanly and headers begin the exhaust process. Undercarriage Clean and dry conditions prevail underneath with just a light film of oil on the transmission pan. Dual exhaust flows through Dynomax mufflers and ends at polished tips under the rear valance. Power brakes are onboard as front discs and rear drums and suspension consists of coil springs front and back with semi-trailing arms in back and QA1 adjustable shocks are also supplied. Drive-Ability The interior is plush and welcoming and almost makes you forget about the beast under the hood. When you spark it to life however, the exhaust note lets you know, this is not your grandfathers C10. The truck then proves itself with impressive power on the test loop, good handling, straight tracking, and efficient braking. The only thing that doesnt work are the reverse lights. All other functions do what theyre intended to, and for the record, we did not engage the NOS. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. Bad to bone black paint and purple flames, a powerful engine with EFI and a bit of laughing gas, and an interior that is a classic and comfortable build all make this C10 something well beyond your run of the mill work truck.
