Classic Car Overview
1971 Chevrolet C10 Pickup For consignment, a resto-mod C10 with all the right moves..straight panels..Check!, great chrome...Check!, A new Interior..Check!, and a powerful mill....Check! If you have an affinity for yellow and licking flames, Check! This truck out. Exterior With its laser straight steel panels in abundance, all awash in screaming zonker yellow, and highlighted with some snappy red to orange to yellow gray edged licking flames up front, I can tell Im in for a treat with this build. Upfront your factory grille with the central located bowtie and single flanking headlights is all gleaming brightly with a factory shine. Side marker lights and taillights are all like new and badging is perfectly aligned not unlike the panels. A chromed front bumper frames the bottom of the front end and has inset turn signal lights. The glass is all trimmed in blacked out trimmings save for the mirrors and door handles. The bed box is extra long on this truck and all straight as arrows for the side panels. The tail gate has a desert scene airbrushed onto going fine with the yellow theme. Another shiny bumper below and flanking tail lighting in vertical form. Covering the bed is a pneumatic hinged fiberglass topper and uses the yellow topcoat itself. Underneath is an oak bed which is like new and sports a dark walnut color and sports shiny mounting ribs between each plank. The inner bed does not have nary a mark on the sides and inner tailgate. 15-inch Eagle Alloy wheels are now on, and these are wrapped in 235/60R15s in front and in back larger 275/60R15s all in like new condition. Interior A swing of the doors and what to my wondering eyes should appear, but black stitched, tufted, triangulated patterned, and buttoned black vinyl door panels. An oak board borders the bottom and matches the stained bed. Here, shiny actuators and cranks are installed along with a simple black vinyl armrest and a speaker on the bottom. Inside is nothing short of spectacular with a fully restored instrument cluster in a black panel which floats on a yellow painted metal dash front. The gauges are very clean, and an aftermarket tachometer attaches itself to the steering column. A Grant GT rally steering wheel is in front of this dash. In the center on another stained oak panel is a radio, and just below the factory metal with temp sliders. Seating is provided by a gray broadcloth bench stretching from tufted door to tufted door. This bench has tuck and roll inserts and shows slight wear on the drivers edges. Black carpeting with Tweety Bird protective carpet mats is on the bottom and up top more triangulated tufted black vinyl serves as the headliner. A shout out to the glovebox with more airbrushed art of the Tweety bird theme. Drivetrain In a fully restored engine bay, a 350ci V8 circa 1976 is all polished and presenting in showstopper status. An Edelbrock intake is bolted on top along with a Holley 4-barrel carburetor to feed this mill. The transmission is a 3-speed automatic TH350. Way back is a 12 bolt rear axle. Headers and a Flowmaster exhaust are on for the exhale and a healthy sound. Undercarriage A resprayed black satin painted structure covers slight surface rusted structural struts. An perimeter frame provides the solid structure for this underpinnings of all the excitement above. For the ride, independent coil spring front suspension is on, and in back a 3 link with coil springs. Front disc braking and rear drums provide the woah factor. Drive-Ability This 71 fired right up and on the test track performed flawlessly. Great handling, snappy acceleration, straight bias free panic stopping, and overall comfort for the custom interior. All working functions at the time of the test drive. Well done, all buttoned up, and just very nicely presenting is pretty much summing it up on this classic truck. A favorite among the classic trucks, the C-10 from 1971 has extras, tasteful mods, and a healthy mill. Also a beautiful exterior will assist in not kicking this baby out of bed for eating crackers! And I leave you with a pickup line: Ever been to heaven?...I can take you there and back by morning!! Hop in..
