Classic Car Overview

1970 Triumph Spitfire Mk 3 Rare, Limited edition, end of model build, with RAF Spitfire logo on the hood. VIN - FDU87600

2010 body and engine restoration including new paint, suspension, exhaust and upgraded 1973 Mk IV engine with full Stage 2 re-build and added overdrive. Dual Webers. Electronic ignition. (cost $6300). Paint color is 2010 Ford Grabber Blue.

Always garaged. 50,300 indicated miles, believed to be accurate from records. Current owner estimates less than 5000 miles since 2010 restoration. Speedometer cable broke at back of speedometer on 5/1/2019 and less than 100 miles driven since. Not repaired. Car has been high performance tuned, rarely driven and is a multiple show winner. She is very fast and would probably benefit from a de-tuning and carburetor adjustment for daily driving.

Top is in very good condition, light scratches on rear window, sale includes tonneau and top boot. Tires and brakes very good. Custom wheels. There is no rust or corrosion, some very light surface oxidation under rear boot that can be wiped off. Paint is excellent with no dings or scratches, mirror shine…as is all chrome. Dashboard and gauge layout is not original, all gauges believed to be original except tach. Wiring is in very good shape and everything works. Many receipts and records, service manuals, technical bulletins and wiring diagrams. She sat idle and stored from 2003 until renovation.
