Classic Car Overview

1970 Porsche 911T Targa For consignment, a 1970 Porsche 911T with a title verified 91,446 actual miles, fully restored and per our consignor, originally a California car. Exterior Irish Green adorns this 911 with its uniquely Porsche profile, raised single headlights and sloping, short back. The removable Targa top is bordered by the brushed aluminum arch B-pillar characteristic of the Targa model, with vertical vents and Targa emblems in gold script. Flawless features on the rear included the grille, emblems, chrome bumperettes, and taillight lenses. Turn signals, front and rear wrap around the car affording views from the sides. The front hood features a subtle cove that becomes deeper as it grows close to the cowl, while the Porsche crest rides proudly on the nose. 15-inch Fuchs wheels have their epic presence on the car and all brightwork is in fantastic condition. The restoration is excellent, and we could not find glaring flaws on the exterior. Interior Saddle door cards flow smoothly between the black header and hardware on the inner doors, presenting cleanly. The bucket seats are finished in saddle leather with cloth houndstooth inserts consisting of black and green striping, while the rear 2+2 fold down seats are dressed in pleated saddle leather. A black lined wood steering wheel with four side facing spokes lead to the splendid dashboard, replete with black faced VDO gauges with bright red needles. The padded dash cover conforms to the gauge cluster, then trails right to cover the passenger side. In the textured plastic center we find the vent controls, a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio, and the glove box. The floor mounted shifter is simple and all business, surrounded by fine saddle carpet in loose fitting mats. The frunk is completely covered with a gray flannel mat and shows a touch of usage. Drivetrain Porsches infamous 2.2 liter flat 6 cylinder engine presents as nearly pristine like under the rear hatch. Its fueled by six 1-barrel Zenith carburetors and is rated at 125 horsepower. Power is kept at the rear where a final drive ratio of 4.429 is housed, and power is reigned in by disc brakes on all four wheels. Undercarriage The underside shows more akin to driver quality but still very clean. About 80% of the underside is covered by a belly pan which improves aerodynamics. Exhaust goes from headers into a stock style muffler, then exits through a single fluted tail pipe. Suspension consists of torsion bar up front and semi trailing arm and transverse torsion bars in the rear. Drive-Ability The compact size and rear engine present a unique test loop experience after a series of muscle cars and classic trucks. But a welcome experience indeed as the air cooled Porsche 911 is among the most iconic cars in the world. All six carbs delivered fuel and that distinct exhaust note was released from the Porsche as we made our way around the loop to find a pleasurable ride with very good acceleration, outstanding handling, and reliable braking. Dysfunctions include the clock which does not work, the top heater slide is stuck, and the heater blower does not operate. Beyond that, all other functions work as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. There is no substitute. Theres a reason Porsche was comfortable adopting this tagline. Not only are their products made with absolute quality, but they have a racing legacy that is hard to beat, and a history of creating legends for the track and the street. This fine example has been meticulously restored and is now offered on consignment and ready for discerning buyers to go green!
