1970 MG MGB $9,850
This Pininfarina designed 1970 MGB GT is powered by a 1.8-liter inline-four paired with a 4-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The previous owner sorted the suspension, brakes, electrical, exhast, and fuel system to make it a reliable sports car for cruises with the local British car club. The BGT was refurbished 20-years ago, which included a repaint in its current blue and interior. The current blue is an older repaint reported to have been completed during the refurbishment approximately 20-years ago. Some bubbling in the paint can be seen below the passenger door in the dog leg.
Rubber suspension bushings have been replaced with polyurethane bushings, and braided stainless brake lines have been fitted. Ventilated discs with Greenstuff pads are present up front, and new wheel cylinders, drums and shoes have been installed in the rear. Minilite-style eight-spoke wheels are fitted with BF Goodrich G-Force Super Sport tires including the spare.The interior features a padded dash and a five-instrument gauge cluster directly in front of the driver. An MG block-off plate covers the opening for the radio, and directly below that is the switch for the overdrive unit.White seats have black inserts and matching black piping. The center console is from a newer MGB and the lid has some nicks.The 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine is fitted with a Weber downdraft carburetor, and features a ceramic-coated header, 2? diameter exhaust pipe, and Flowmaster muffler. Petronix electronic ignition has been added, the factory fuse box has been replaced with an aftermarket unit, and the seller notes that the thermostat has been replaced. The valve lash has been adjusted, and a new valve cover gasket has been installed.
