1970 JEEP COMMANDO, This is the earliest known Hurst Jeepster/Commando. Super rare 1970&1/2 Kaiser Hurst Jeepster/Commando with 59,924 actual miles(documented by Oklahoma inspection receipts). GM Dauntless V-6 engine,GM TH-400 automatic transmission,Dana 44 rear axle,power steering,Jeep air conditioning,factory Hurst Jeepster/Commando hood scoop and factory tachometer and Hurst dual gate shifter,factory luggage rack and Jeep AM radio. Serial number 8705F17-67885(see picture) is the earliest known Hurst Jeepster/Commando produced by Kaiser Corporation in April 1970 and was on special factory display for a year at the Tulsa International Airport in Tulsa,OK before delivery by Stewart Jeep of Tulsa,OK to the original owner Charles Hubble in Bartlesville,OK on July 15,1971 for the price of $3,813.60(see receipt in pictures). Charles Hubble saw this Jeep Hurst Jeepster/Commando on display at the Tulsa airport and inquired about purchasing it and was told that he would have to wait until it was removed from display after a year . Charles died in 1976 and his wife died in 2005. I was able to acquire the Jeep from her estate. The Jeep has spent it's entire life in Bartlesville,OK. This milestone vehicle is probably one of the best surviving examples of a Hurst Jeepster/Commando of the total of 103 produced. The total Kaiser Hurst Jeepster/Commando production was projected to be 500 units but the actual total production was only 103 units. The price is $25,000.00.
