Ford 460 V8 Background

The Ford 460 was introduced in 1968 and became one of the most respected big block V8s of its time. Built in Lima, Ohio, it featured a 4.36-inch bore, 3.85-inch stroke, and a strong rod ratio that made it both powerful and reliable. Known for huge torque output, the 460 powered everything from Torinos and Thunderbirds to trucks, campers, and even police interceptors. Today, it remains a favorite among muscle car enthusiasts for its strength and upgrade potential.

Originally fitted with a 302 2V and C4 automatic, the car was upgraded with the 460 V8 mated to a C6 automatic transmission.
