Classic Car Overview

1970 Dodge Dart Swinger 340
Member of the Famed SCAT PACK Performance Group

Engine: Standard Stock 1970 340/275 BHP 340 FP Torque
Current Engine 1970 340/461 BHP 424 FP Torque

This is a true H Code car with only two previous owners. The first owner blew the engine in 1984 and let the car sit in his garage for 17-years. The second owner rescued it in 2001 and started the restoration. The paint was refreshed with original Top Banana Yellow paint. The original engine was replaced with a date code correct 1970 340 Cuda engine. It is balanced, blueprinted, w/10.5:1 Keith Black Hypereutectic Pistons, Eagle Forged Connecting Rods, ARP Main-Studs, Stainless Valves @ 2.06 intake, and Aluminum 1.6 Ratio Roller-Rockers, Hughes Engines matched Ported Heads and .571/.576 Lift - 286°/290° Duration Hydraulic-Lifter Camshaft, Edelbrock RPM Air-Gap Intake Manifold, a polished aluminum/blue anodized Holley 650CFM Ultra DP Carburetor, MSD Blaster Coil and Electronic Ignition, Hooker/TTI 3 Headers into 3 Dual Exhaust System w/Dynomax Mufflers and Hooker Electric Operated Cut-Outs, Lakewood Aluminum Flywheel and Steel Scattershield, Centerforce Clutch, Comp-Engineering Gas Shocks all around with Super Stock Springs up front, Kelsey Hayes 4-Piston Manual Front-Disc Brakes and Rear Drum Brakes, 14" Mopar Rallye Wheels 5" Front 7" Rear, New BFG Radial TA's, and the NOS 1970 Go-Wing was recently discovered in Ohio and added. The 3:91 Sure Grip gears have been replaced with more street friendly 3:55s from a '70 Demon. The original 3.91 gears come with the car...a $1000 savings. I might say that a set of 3.23's would be even better.

FENDER TAG CODE PLATE:

Y05: USA Specifications
D53: 8 3/4 Differential w/3:91 Sure-Grip Gears
A62: Rallye Dash w/Clock-Tachometer and Upgraded Gauges

Everything works great except the small Sun Super Tach II in the middle of the dash as the tach cable went to the larger aftermarket Autometer tachometer. Of course, the turn signal indicators work but the nylon stop piece is worn and they need to be held up or down by hand to be a constant signal. All exterior lights and signals are now LED. Everything is original but the Engine...the block was replaced with date code correct block.

The documentation in the yellow Notebook has been kept up since 2001. It contains all period correct brochures, receipts, and the original Build/Broadcast Sheet.

The concerns are as follows in the pictures: slight bubbling at base of driver's side door, the paint is looking good from 15-feet but has some paint wear on the body-top surfaces, especially near the stinger stripe. So, a new paint job might be in order someday. The other point is that the original purchaser in San Diego area did not order power-steering nor the wing; why...I don't know. But the wing I added was found in it's original box in an old abandoned auto parts warehouse in Ohio...I bought it and had it professionally installed, it is not an aftermarket replication.

The good: Has a great AM/FM CD Stereo, runs out fine and will include the original 3.91 gears and as a special treat, I found an original 1970 Dart Grill...in the box, now in bubble-wrap (the old cardboard box crumbled into small bits during shipping, but I have a picture of the label and end item information). I will include the extra mint NOS Front Grill in the sale...these are going for over $2,500 even IF you can find one! I have the original radiator, alternator, and MSD Ignition box. A conditional appraisal was done in 2018 when my wife bought the car; this will be included in sale too.

I am available for questions and I have since removed all the decals for you as well.
