Classic Car Overview
The 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T Convertible is a true American classic muscle car that was produced in very limited numbers. This 440 Magnum “Six Pack” R/T is one of only 99 ever produced, and adding to its rarity, it is 1 of only 61 produced with the four-speed manual transmission and most certainly considerably less (under 10 is widely believed) were built in this stunning color mixture of Plum Crazy Metallic over the black leather interior. Unique features of the R/T include the special hood with “440 Six Pack” call outs and locking pins as well as the throaty-sounding dual exhaust system which were some of the performance touches added to it from the factory. The heart of this stunning Mopar is a period-correct 440 cubic inch Magnum V8 that has been professionally blueprinted and balanced producing a very healthy 390 horsepower. All that power is then routed through the 4-speed manual transmission and then on to the stout Dana 60 rear axle. Under the power convertible top you will find a very clean interior finished in black leather with black carpet, and center stage is the quintessential “Pistol-Grip” Hurst shifter mounted in the center console. This car also features several options such as power brakes, bucket seats, wood grain console and the unique “rim blow” steering wheel horn. The recipient of a recent comprehensive restoration the Challenger is in great mechanical and cosmetic condition and is ready to be enjoyed. In addition, the R/T was inspected this year by Mopar expert Dave Wise attesting to the authenticity of the car. Don’t miss this chance to own a great example of a rare piece of Mopar history.
