Windy City Warriors

From around 1956 until the mid 1980s, Dodge, Plymouth and even Chrysler squads were the most ubiquitous police cars in North America. In fact, the biggest department, the NYPD, used Plymouth and Dodge squads almost exclusively until the rear-drive M body car was finally axed in 1989.

Savoy Faire is Everywhere

The no-frills Savoy two-door sedan was home to another engine of considerable repute, the infamous 413 Max Wedge, a Super Stock monster block Chrysler introduced in the spring of 1962.

Classic Car Overview

Big, beautiful, luxurious, rare, and pure Americana this 1970 Chrysler 300-H Hurst Edition is the classic coupe you want when you demand style and distinction. Of course, a big power V8 and a loaded A/C interior help the desirability, too. Chrysler did the early 70s better than anyone else with large cars that had the attitude that owned the road. And the rare Chrysler/Hurst 300 was the pinnacle of this boldness. It took a true artists eye for Hurst to specially transform the Spinnaker White coupes with Satin Tan to create one of the sportiest two-tones to hit the road. Plus, the proper chocolate and orange pinstripe stripe package adds to this cars true distinction. And the level of detail that went into these (just look at the pinstriping on the color matched wheels) is why they were the most expensive Chryslers in 1970. As a result, only about 485 were produced for this single-year package. Its this combination of artistry and rarity is why this example was given the right investments over the years. The paint was expertly re-sprayed; the hidden headlights line up correctly; and the form-fitting bumpers shine like mirrors. Plus, youll love the look of the Hurst-specific body panels. The special fiberglass hood looks sporty with twist locks and a large scoop that even has Hursts famous H in the bulge. Out back, Hurst expertly turned those sharp fenders into a racecar-worthy integrated spoiler. The tan leather interior is as plush as it looks. Thats because this premium Chrysler borrowed its inside from the ultra-premium Imperial line. The result is button-top comfort and space to really stretch your legs. And this one continues its premium feeling with nice investments in places like the seat leather and headliner. This has a great classic look, right down to the 8-track radio thats still on display. And vintage luxury means truly great modern cruising. Fold-down armrests and power front seats means you get to set your ideal driving position. Plus, power windows mean you never have to leave the drivers seat to show off the pillarless hardtop profile. And thanks to cold factory air conditioning, you can do this all summer long. The engine bay looks so honest that it makes a good case for suspecting the era-correct 440 cubic-inch engine block could be original. And people will assume originality just by looking at all the correct pieces, like the bold orange block, matching valve covers, factory decals, and eye-catching air topper announcing the TNT 440 cubic-inch V8. Not only do you get the biggest of the RB big blocks, but also this V8 was topped with a four-barrel carburetor. In fact, the Hurst cars were given an upgrade in power over the rest of the premium 300 line. That way this big cruiser could live up to its powerful appearance, and the sweet sound of the dual exhaust delivers on this promise, too. The Torqueflite A727 three-speed automatic transmission is the ideal paring for a stout unit that delivers comfortable shifting. And this cruising attitude is only heightened by great driving features like power steering, power brakes (w/discs up front,) and cruise control. This is one of the rarest Chrysler 300s ever to hit the streets, and its one of the most beautiful, too. Thats why you know this is an amazing classic you need to take home. Call today!!!
