From the factory, the stock LS5 was the biggest block made with hydraulic lifters, this V-8 produced an advertised and impressive 390 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. That power is then funneled through a Muncie four-speed manual transmission before being sent out to its standard-issue Posi rear end.
