Chevrolet introduced the Chevelle in 1963 as a 1964 model. Though quite large by today's standards, it was classified as a midsize car. What wasn't midsize was the level of passion garnered from the very beginning, a passion that has continued for decades.

PENDING SALE!!! 1970 Chevelle SS, 454, M21 4 spd Muncie, 12 bolt posi, 3.31, F41 suspension, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning. This 1970 Chevelle SS was recently restored and is in great condition. For the most part, this car was restored to original. It has a few things here and there to make it run better and be a little more stylish, but for the most part, it’s like it was when it came off the showroom floor in 1970. Big block 454 with a XR276 performance cam by Comp Cams, a Holley 3310 750 CFM carburetor, and a HEI distributor. It was rebuilt several years back and has the correct orange valve covers, along with the stock cast intake and exhaust manifolds, using high quality Fel-Pro silicone gaskets throughout. It has a Muncie M21 4 speed transmission with a Hurst Competition shifter mated to a 12 bolt Posi rear end with 3.31 gears. It has the performance F41 suspension, with rear sway bar. New ball joints up front. The trans and rearend were rebuilt with the engine. It also has power steering, power disc brakes, and air conditioning. The AC blows cold, but nothing substantial. Don’t expect it to work like AC in a modern-day car. I always keep the windows down, even in summer, simply because it’s just an old design and can’t keep up with the heat. The front brakes have been completely gone through and redone, including new rotors, calipers, pads, hardware, and lines. New fender wells and hardware upfront. It has a Grant steering wheel, Corbeau Evolution bucket seats, and a factory fit radio with a 3.5mm aux input. The exhaust sounds amazing and is a 2.5” fully welded exhaust system with turn downs at the rear axle. It has Ridler 695 18x8/18x9.5 wheels with Nitto N555 235/285 tires on it, with less than 300 miles on them. I recently put them on. The car is almost all original GM sheet metal. Full quarter panels are the factory installed 1970 steel. Entire body was brought down to bare metal and sealed with 2k epoxy. The car was redone well and all the electrical stuff has been gone through. New painless wiring harness, alternator, voltage regulator, horn relay, and other things like the weather-stripping, window felt, and carpet have all been replaced. All the little stuff that is often glanced over such as the glove box light, the dome light, and the horn all work. It has the original center console, along with Lloyd "Chevelle" floor mats. It has alot of AC Delco restoration parts, including the battery.

It’s been a great car since I’ve owned it. Overall it's a solid car and runs strong. There's only a few minor things that could use attention. The transmission reverse switch was not installed during restoration, so you don’t have any reverse lights at the moment. I bought the correct Hurst reverse switch recently, but have not installed it yet. It will be included. The only other issue that I've noticed is that the speedometer cable whines a little bit when it's warm. The speedometer works properly, and the cable should just need some lube. The SS dash is in excellent condition, with all gauges working, except the clock. That is a common issue on these cars, but I haven’t changed the dash out with a digital dash like many because I wanted to keep it original.

The paint is great, but not perfect. There are a few runs in the clear that are below the eye line and a couple small nicks here and there from normal driving. The hood has a very small dimple on each side from where the hood spring bolts were overtighened just slightly. I've included a picture. The trunk has the correct mat and spare wheel, but no jack or tire iron. The headliner was redone with the restoration, but it has a few creases in it. It's not drooping or anything, it's just not perfect.

The previous owner said this car was a SS from the factory; however, I do not have the build sheet. The VIN is 136370A170909 and is on a clean and clear TN title, and registered as an Antique Auto. I am in the Air Force and currently located in Valdosta, GA. I want to be as transparent and descriptive as possible so that the buyer gets a clear picture of what this car is if unable to see it in person. I have identified all the flaws that I have noticed since owning it. It's a 50 year old car, so it's not perfect and needs a few things here and there as mentioned above. Everything is minor however, and overall it is in excellent mechanical condition, and other than a small leak from the transmission at the dust cover and a few drips from the power steering pump, this car is solid. This car is turn key and ready to cruise around town, or take to car shows. It has been garage kept and doesn't get driven in the rain. It runs strong with the rebuilt motor, and will smoke the tires at the stop light with ease!! If you have any more questions, feel free to message me about it.
