Classic Car Overview
This car left the assembly line in Van Nuys California optioned as Z28, Hugger orange with black stripes, 4 speed M22 Rock Crusher manual with 4.11 gearing. It was sold to the first owner in Canton, Texas. The car was then used in a Bridgestone Tires national sweepstakes and relocated to Colorado. The car later was owned in Arizona, southern California, and Nevada.
In 2019-2020, the car underwent restoration which included stripping the car to bare sheet metal and was re-painted in the original Hugger orange, and black stripes. The original, numbers matching 350 engine (CTB code) was rebuilt and aluminum Edelbrock cylinder heads were added. New carpet, sound deadening mat, door cards, dash, and instrument bezel were added. In order to improve drivability, the previous owner replaced the original transmission with a Tremec TKO 600 5 speed, 4.11 rear-end gearing was changed to 3.73, and Baer 4 wheel big disc brake kit was added. The original M22 transmission is in my possession and is included with sale of the car. Suspension was freshened up with Detroit Speed springs and new Bilstein dampeners, but otherwise remains stock. It sits on American Racing VN510 18x8 front wheels and 18x10 rear wheels. Corbeau bucket seats were added for better back support but the original seats are included and are in great condition. This is a non-RS car, which left the factory with a full bumper but is currently wearing the split bumper bumperettes. Original full bumper is included with car.
This is a wonderful drivers car that turns heads on the street and at car shows. Paint and body are in great shape but there are small rock chips and blemishes as it was a real drivers car. It runs great and stays cool even while sitting in Las Vegas summer traffic. It stops incredibly well and can cruise at 75mph on freeway at 2500rpms. This car can be enjoyed in its current state or returned to factory stock if desired. The car has 2 binders of documentation including the original Protect-o-Plate and Owners manual/warranty documents. The car is registered in the National Corvette Restorers Society.
