1988-1992 Chevrolet Camaro 1LE: The Original Factory Racer

With all the hoopla surrounding the new Camaro 1LE, let's look back at the original.

The story of the ZL1 Camaro, fitted with that rarest of the rare, all-aluminum 427 big-block V-8, is one that has often been told: How only 69 were made, how they exploited the GM option-ordering system, and how they've become the Camaro guy's ultimate Camaro.

Classic Car Overview

The Camaro is an American icon that has been treasured for decades and generations.  With resto-mods in rising demand and popularity, a classic like this is a natural choice for an epic custom ride.  This project 1970 Camaro, with all the top-shelf, name brand parts that come with this car, is clearly a serious project in the making.  With labels such as Detroit Speed, Vintage Air, Forgeline, and Wilwood making an appearance, there was a concerted effort made to turn this Camaro into a premium restomod, with all the amenities one could want.  The exterior sheet metal has been installed and prepped to an extent, however, needs a variety of finishing touches to be ready for paint.  Some custom work was started here and there, but not all of it was finished.  Inside the interior is a custom fabricated dash panel that houses modern performance gauges and a sporty Billet Specialties steering wheel.  This Camaro coupe was originally a V8 model painted in desirable Hugger Orange with a black vinyl bucket seat interior.  Ready to be finished in your vision, this Chevrolet has many desirable performance parts in place and is a great candidate to be completed into an exceptional pro-touring Camaro.
