Classic Car Overview

Extremely rare car-one of the last soft window Targas, built on the first-year long wheelbase chassis with the fuel-injected 2.0 S engine. It is estimated in the vintage 911 community that fewer than 15 of these 911S cars were built; most were for the German home market-as this car was-since all other 1969 Targas were glass-window. This car received a complete bare-metal-up restoration in its original colors several years ago in Germany by respected 911 specialists, PSAutomobile, that included overhauling the original engine, transaxle and thorough rebuilding of the chassis, brakes, steering & electrical systems. We have their records, plus the cars original Kardex confirming its build details, colors, options and matching engine number. As a Euro-spec example, this car has metric instruments and most of its documentation is in German. Part of the panache of a soft-window Targa is its lighter weight coupled with the race-derived, most-powerful version of the 2.0 OHC engine. The car came to the US in early 2023 after residing in a private collection in Austria for several years and is currently licensed and titled in Montana. The car has had little mileage since the rebuild and restoration, but a testimonial to the quality and reliability of the work was a 1200-mile trouble-free drive from Colorado to Southern California two months ago. (Thats really not surprising, because German restorations focus on driving, not minutia) We have just had Denvers most-experienced vintage-911 shop do a full service, tune, cam timing & valve adjustment so it runs very well, is completely authentic and a rare icon of Porsches road car history. We welcome any knowledgeable inspection. As a one-of-15 home-market car, this might be the only one in the US! The current Sports Car Market price guide gives a high value of $440K, but we are offering the car well below that figure for a prompt sale. If you are considering one of the classic or collectible cars on our website, be assured that coming for a personal visit to inspect first-hand the car that has captured your fancy is very welcome. We practice transparency in all of our descriptions, but believe that nothing is as convincing as seeing and touching the car yourself. Plan a few hours, so you can see, touch, feel and drive the car, and enjoy a tour of our restoration shops to see where the magic happens. If your schedule is too committed, we also welcome a knowledgeable agent visiting for you. Please understand that sales are final, so the time for all due diligence is before you buy. Our cars are sold AS-IS, since most are on consignment from owners. We follow FTC guidelines for all sales and certainly want our future clients leaving more glowing reports among our reviews!
