Classic Car Overview

MGCs are a rare bird, particularly in the handsome coupe GT version-only about 1800 were built for all markets. This one was a USA-spec car shipped new to Los Angeles, but spent most of its time in central Oregon. We all know that any British sports car that came near salty roads in the Midwest turned to dust decades ago, but this unicorn is clean and solid underneath. The beautiful black paint presents with a great shine and has no stress cracks or other aging. The C was built to address the MGBs weaknesses-a lazy 4-cylinder engine that buzzed you to death on the highway, but the C has a 3-liter inline 6 coupled to a manual overdrive transmission that makes the car a very nice driver-particularly with the added rigidity and weather-tightness of the coupe body. Those attributes have been finished off with 72-spoke chrome wire wheels, restored leather interior & new carpets. The last owner has rebuilt all the hydraulics, did the brakes and upgraded the old lever-type shocks with modern Spax telescopic ones. We have a binder with all his records and receipts for work done to make the car both fun and reliable. He polished it off with popular Brit-car accessories including a wood-rim Moto-Lita steering wheel, Vredestein radials and a pair of Lucas Flame thrower driving lights and PL-700 main beams. The original owners book is in the glove box and the jack & knock-off hammer are in their bag in the trunk. We have the British Heritage Trust certificate documenting that the engine is the original one, and a recent compression test gave strong, consistent readings of 125 to 133. In todays specialty car world, $37,500 doesnt buy many interesting cars that are all done and ready to be enjoyed. Yes, its a pricey MG, but its a far better car than most of its sisters have become. If you are considering one of the classic or collectible cars on our website, be assured that coming for a personal visit to inspect first-hand the car that has captured your fancy is very welcome. We practice transparency in all of our descriptions, but believe that nothing is as convincing as seeing and touching the car yourself. Plan a few hours, so you can see, touch, feel and drive the car, and enjoy a tour of our restoration shops to see where the magic happens. If your schedule is too committed, we also welcome a knowledgeable agent visiting for you. Please understand that sales are final, so the time for all due diligence is before you buy. Our cars are sold AS-IS, since most are on consignment from owners. We follow FTC guidelines for all sales and certainly want our future clients leaving more glowing reports among our reviews!
