Classic Car Overview

This 1969 Mercedes-Benz 600 short wheelbase sedan was acquired by the seller in 1979 and currently shows 56,000 miles. Finished in Black with a cream leather interior, this car is one of just 149 sold new between 1963 and 1969 in the US and has remained in California for all of its life.
It features:
6.3-Liter M100 V8
4-Speed Automatic Transmission
Black Paint (original color was a Burgundy red color)
Tan Leather Upholstery
15" Steel Wheels w/Painted Covers
Self-Leveling Air Suspension
Power Window
Air Conditioning w/Rear Controls
Sunroof
Clean Title
The car has the following issues.
Only two of the four horns are working.
The factory-installed radio is partially inoperable.
The air conditioning system has not been re-charged or tested.
The passenger window will roll down from the drivers side, but not from the passenger side.
The interior wood requires attention as some of the varnish has degraded.
The wood dash is in need of refinishing.
The cream leather upholstery remains unrestored, with sun damage evident in areas, including spots around the backseat.
The comfort hydraulic system occasionally seeps fluid.
The rear window curtains are missing but the side curtains are still in the vehicle, however they are in poor condition.
The rear bumper needs to be re-chromed.
There are some rust issues under the two rear quarter panels.
Coolant drips are visible on underside components
This is a rare vehicle in good condition. With some work, it would be an excellent driver. These short wheelbase 600s are the most desirable and are exceptional road cars.
Within the past two years, the current owner has had the air suspension restored by a Mercedes mechanic who specializes in this model and the brakes redone. In addition, any needed repairs were made so the car could be roadworthy. Receipts are available for this work upon request.
These cars are appreciating in value and this example, with a known history and low mileage, is priced to sell.
