1969 Jaguar E-Type

ITS ALIVE! AUTOMOTIVE is very proud to present this exceptional 1969 Jaguar E- type Series II Fixed Head Coupe in sought after factory correct color combination of British Racing Green over a Black leather interior. Per the accompanying Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, this example was completed at the Coventry works on August 15th 1969 and was dispatched to British-Leyland New York on the following September 4th. The original Service Passport reveals the selling dealer to be Continental Cars here in St. Louis who last stamped the Service Passport in October 1970 with a recorded 8800 miles since new. Believed to have remained in the St. Louis region since new, ITS ALIVE! acquired this Series II in 2020 from a long-term owner who purchased the car in October 1987. The accompanying title copy documents 49,000 miles on the odometer at the time of the 1987 sale. When it acquired by ITS ALIVE! the E-type had undergone some restoration work while 56,000 miles were present on the odometer. Under the care of our in-house technicians, the restoration was completed to ensure that all mechanical areas were inspected and repaired as needed. The engine and transmission were removed, the engine compartment thoroughly cleaned and the bird cage repainted in the correct British Racing Green. While removed the engine received a new water pump and all the external seals were replaced. Once reinstalled new hoses, belts were fitted as was a new aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. The carburetors were removed, disassembled, cleaned, rebuilt and reinstalled with the engine tuned as necessary. Clutch hydraulics were completely replaced as was the bottle bracketry and the corresponding heat shield. On the interior a new set of correct floor mats were installed while the front seats were reupholstered with new foams and covers from O.S.J.I in Muncie, IN. The exhaust note of numbers-matching 4.2L DOHC inline-6 resonates through a polished stainless steel exhaust system. A new set of Coker Redline 185R15 tires are mated a set of 72-spoke chrome wire wheels that really make a statement of elegance on this E-type. A thorough inspection revealed the numbers-matching 4-speed gearbox is still present as is the body number tag behind the rear license plate facia. This Series II Fixed Head Coupe is offered as a matching-numbers, low mileage example in its factory correct colors while several upgrades and recent service ensure that this E-type is up the task for its next driver!
