DODGE BOYS GATHER AROUND THIS IS TRULY A ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY TO OWN A 1 OWNER, HIGHLY DOCUMENTED, 41,000 MILE UNRESTORED SURVIVOR, 1969 DODGE CHARGER 440 R/T!!!
We were contacted by the widow of the original owner of this 1969 Dodge Charger 440 R/T who told us a story that T.V. producers couldnt even dream up and as a classic car enthusiast you only hear about and wonder if its true, but here it is!! She told us that her husband had passed away in 2018. That he wanted his beloved Charger to be passed down to one of their children or grandchildren. After several years of bickering whos going to get it, she decided it was just easier to sell it and divide up the money instead. She contacted a mutual friend of ours who contacted me about the car and i immediately made the call, went to see the car and couldnt believe what i was seeing and hearing! We immediately struck a deal and bought it! The car had been sitting in her climate-controlled garage covered for the past 3 years. She told us that her husbands best friend, who was a car guy himself, would stop by from time to time to start, run and sometimes drive the car but he unfortunately got sick and passed away about 3 years ago and after that the car just sat. When we initially saw it, the car did not run but were guaranteed that it did. We didnt want to try to start it there because of the bad gas and a dead battery. When we got it into our shop, we drained the old fuel and installed a hot battery and some fresh gas, and she fired up and remarkably, all systems seemed to function as they should!
THIS CAR IS TRULY INCREDIBLE!! WHAT IS EVEN MORE REMAKABLE IS TO FIND A 56-YEAR-OLD CAR THAT YOU HONESTLY KNOW ABOUT ITS WHOLE LIFES STORY BUT HERE IT IS!! CHECK IT OUT!!
First of all, this car still retains 100% of its original body, floors, trunk and frame. It is incredibly solid and clean. It was Ziebarted at the dealer as described on the original BILL OF SALE and thats what probably saved it after all these years. It also still retains 90% of its original paint except for the right 1/4 panel which we were told, was repainted due to a shopping cart scrape while grocery shopping in 1979. Even the vinyl top and all of the chrome, trim, weather-stripping and glass are 100% original, and all are in really nice condition. The interior is also 100% original and is in incredible like new condition as well!!
We were told and have 2 large notebooks full of receipts and pictures proving that in 1998 her husband decided to modify the Charger and build it into what you see here today. He took the original drivetrain (engine, trans, rear) out and installed some serious parts like a Ray Barton 557 c.i. - 887 h.p. aluminum head HEMI engine, a full race 727 torq-flight automatic transmission and a Dana 60 rear with 4:10 gears and he even added a Gear Vendor overdrive system so he could cruise down the hi-way comfortably. He also modified the front and rear suspension to handle all this horsepower. As mentioned, we have receipts and multiple dyno-sheets to back all this up! But wait, theres more!! Whats really cool and totally incredible is that ALL of its original parts including the original 440c.i.-375 h.p. engine, exhaust manifolds, intake and air cleaner, the original 727 automatic transmission and the original 8-3/4 rear were kept and came with the car, Basically, we cleaned out her garage. We also have the original K-Frame, starter and radiator too. If that isnt cool enough for you, we all know that the hood scoop was added, right, well we even have the original metal that was cut from the hood to install the scoop
.
As mentioned, this car is documented by the original Window Sticker, original Bill of Sale, 2 Broadcast Sheets, an original Title, Registration Cards and original Warranty Books and 50 years of receipts!
This car is truly an amazing find! It absolutely runs and drives and sounds like nothing i have ever heard or driven before and still looks great after all these years! DO NOT MISS THIS RARE, ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY!!
