1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS
The Chevrolet Chevelle is one of the most iconic muscle cars around.
Chevrolet introduced the Chevelle in 1963 as a 1964 model. Though quite large by today's standards, it was classified as a midsize car. What wasn't midsize was the level of passion garnered from the very beginning, a passion that has continued for decades.
Classic Car Overview
This is an exceptional 1969 Chevelle restored and lightly modified over the past year at Galpin Auto Sports/GAS. The original build sheet is a white on red car as you see here. The engine was swapped from it's original 396 to a 454 but retained the 396 air cleaner and valve covers making the swap almost undetectable. The transmission was upgraded from a 3 speed Turbo 400 with a column shifter to a Turbo 700 4 speed automatic with a center console shifter. Suspension has been upgraded to Hotchkis making for a much better ride. Wheels were swapped from 14" to 17" steelies which create an almost original look but allow for better tire options and help to hide the upgraded brakes from drum to 4 wheel disc. The bench seat was replaced with factory buckets. Paint, body and interior are impeccable. This is a great driving Chevelle. At 75 mph the tach is only at 2200 rpms because of the gearing and the additional overdrive gear. This car is also an original factory air car and the a/c does work.
The owner has over $90K invested with a book of documentation and receipts and he still owns the original numbers matching 396 for the car.
He is looking to get around $49,500 but will consider respectable offers. If you want to see a full video of this car follow this link...
